The Dover Christmas Parade

Fun for all ages, the Dover Christmas Parade entertained kids and adults alike. Mild weather made for a great day.

Having an zoom that can go from wide and still reach 200mm (300mm 35mm equiv) really made shooting this parade a joy. There was no time to change lenses as the parade marched by.. but I was able to capture the action whether it was approaching or passing. This was the day when I realized just how cool the 18-200mm VR lens is..

Were I to do it over, however, I would increase the ISO to around 400 or the Auto ISO threshold to 1/60s. The slow shutter speeds produced a lot of motion blurred images.
